ATT: Director Of Patient Services
In December of this year Midwest Cancer Screening will complete programing for our new LIS system. This will allow for significant improvement in our current reporting system. Our clients will be able to view and download laboratory reports from our internet web site using any PC with internet access. Each clinic site will be given a password to gain entry to the system. All systems are HIPAA compliant . This will significantly impact your turn around time in receiving your reports. For example, in many cases, a 10 day average turn around time can be cut to 5 working days. We will begin testing with a few clinics in early December 2007. This will not be mandatory and, if a clinic elects, they will be able to continue receiving reports by mail. In addition, if demand dictates, we can offer HL7 reporting directly to patients charts for EMR (Electronic Medical Records). We are very excited about internet reporting and our capability of significantly improving service to clients and their patients.
All reporting and statistical information you are accustomed to receiving will continue to be available. Atypical reports can continue to be called or faxed if requested.
A sample of our new report is available upon request or can be viewed on our website at www.midwestcancerscreening.com. Click on the Announcements tab to see the new format. Give us call at 1-888-299-1937 if you have any questions or concerns. We are considering an electronic requisition and clinic site labeling equipment to preclude completing requisitions with redundant patient ID information, i.e., bar codes if client interest demands in the future.
Once again, thank you for your trust in this laboratory and we look forward to working with you and your staff to provide accurate and timely reporting for laboratory services in the future.
Sincerely,
Dallas W. Johnson, PhD, C.T. ASCP Midwest Cancer Screening
